Couple of heads-up:
1) KPOO's Judge continues his history of '70s soul today with 4 hours of nothing but songs from 1971. Last week's 1970 show was superb, so don't miss today's from noon to 4.
2) KPOO's Monday night oldies guy, Rockin' Jim, does a Halloween show tonite from 8:30 to 11:30.
3) speaking of H'ween, Li'l Steven did his holiday show this week -- and as seems to happen every freakin' Sunday, The Bone screwed it up and dropped the last 2 segments. But you can hear it on his website

Highlight so far: Ree-Ree's faboo cover of "Brand New Me"
followed by the Isleys, in the midst of their let's-cover-white-rock-hits period, doing "Spill the Wine" (!)

and my fave Staples jam, "Heavy makes You Happy" Sha-la-boom-boom yeah!

OMGWTFLOL-of-the-Week: 'LNG plays Oliver's cover of Spanky & Our Gang's "Sunday Morning", his somewhat ill-fated follow-up to "Jean" from late '69. I surely haven't heard this in decades. Gaz, if you've never heard it, track it down.

More fab '60s British stuff: Manx Radio (on the Isle of Man) has a weekly '60s-flashback show called "Carnaby Street" and it's avail as a podcast here:
http://www.manxradio.com/listen.aspx
scoll down to the "Saturday Shows" list.

For those who care: The Drive will be doing "A to Z" starting Monday morning, they expect it to last at least a week.

Wowsers: Barry Scott closes tonight's "Lost 45s" with Nancy Sinatra's "Friday's Child." NTM, and WTF. She's as brazenly imprecise as Cher, and not far afar from her on this. Wonder who could've done it justice.
