S:JBE is not a bad start, but you're right that it does improve. Orig. aired July 28, if you want to look back and see what's in store.

BOS1 Tull.
Let's get right to it.

God, what a great harp solo.  Is Sally the new Katrina?

Sort of. A "sally" is a sound bite that gets overplayed, derived from Sally Field's "You like me! This time, you like me!" Oscars clip that Dave played pretty frequently for a time.

BOS2 Hey Bulldog. Whaddaya say?

a "Sally" is an overplayed news clip, whereas a Katrina is an overplayed song.

Indeed, Mayall's is the harmonica tune of all time, tho' some here can't stand it (Gaz would WOS it if he were on-line).

BOS2 Beatles (yay), "Bulldog" (hey).

BOS3, and a huge bustout at the time: Take A Giant Step.

"There is no percentage in rememberin' the past"--are you sure about that, Taj?

ETA: Add this to the list of non-country banjo tunes.
