Sorry I had to cut out early, songs with Banjo is something I have been thinking about for a long time, but never thought the rest of y'all would be into it.  I'm at the library right now, and suffering brain freeze, but one that immediately comes to mind is Buffalo Springfield, "Bluebird" (banjo solo on the bridge).

I'm sure I will think of more as I listen to my Zune on the way home today.

Aaackkk!  that's the other one that I was desperately tryign to recall, and failing to do so convinced me I was suffering from brain freeze.  I was tantalizingly close to remembering it, and knew there was a great Zep tune in that category.  But all I could come up with was "When the Levee Breaks", which may also qualify, but I knew it wasn't the one I was failing to remember.

so we do have a variety of tunes, and although I'm not familiar with the Eagles suggestions, it looks like featuring a banjo in a song generall means it will on the kinder and gentler side... unless we open the voting up to include some bluegrass-y stuff!  :)

I think some widely known country/bluegrass tunes would go well here: Foggy Mountain Breakdown for instance (and I hope to hear the legendary Earl Skruggs play it this weekend!).   And what about Dueling Banjos?  Everyone knows that, but not everyone's a fan ... eh, Gaz?

that's great.   I hope to see Steve Martin at Hardly Strictly, but his set coincides w so many other great ones.  I'm sure he'll work some "King Tut" action into his set, since some of the Boy King's tchotchkes are just over yonder
