nice little set here

Yes indeedy--some rock (Who, Zep), some r&b (Ann Peebles, Gladys + Pips), a hybrid of the two (Geils)--the makings of a very fine set indeed. Wonder what other nuggets we have in store?
Let's get right to it.

here I go again!  Big jukebox at the El Amigo restaurant on Mission (near 30th?  Long gone)  blasting "Midnight Train to Georgia" and eating their flautas!

I wonder if anyone else remembers Bok Food Wonton on Mission near Van Ness?
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

when Garry Trudeau put Gladys & the Pips in a Doonesbury strip? Singing "Midnight Train to Cranston"? Mostly focused on the Pips--it was hilarious--I'll have to see if I can find it on the web.

Hmmm, what's this in SH6 position? Sounds vaguely like Cat Stevens, but not quite.
Let's get right to it.

yeah, i thought it was cat at first, too.

then there's the gladys-less pip skit from 'the richard pryor show.' they pips sing backup, and the camera focuses on a mic stand when gladys is supposed to be singing.

I thought they were singing about Virginia, that's the only Annandale I know of.
