in the movie Adventureland the smug dude tries to impress chicks by saying he once played guitar w Lou Reed on songs like "Shine a Light Of Love."
Our hero corrects him, and eventually wins the girl.

BOS5 Ringo's career peak. By all accounts, he's getting the most props from the re-issues. "Damn, I can really hear the drums!"

That's what Joel Selvin said when he was on the Morning Show yesterday helping them to review the reissues.

Greg said that back in the day Lennon was asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world, to which he allegedly replied, "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles."

"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Wow, that's pretty acid-tongued, even for John.

was thinking of Ringo's You're Sixteen this morning...

You're Sixteen,
You're beautiful and
You're mine.

a bit of an age discrepancy, no?   unless he's talking about a dog, which would make 16 like 112 in dog years. Either way, eyebrows get raised.

BOS2 to "Sail On, Sailor."  Think later I'll go revisit the Sweet-Rucker liver cover of this.

I was going to write "hear, here!" But I'm enjoying being a moody bastard these days. :) This too, shall pass.

Oh christ yes.  I could have filled several pages in the "I'm tryin' to tell you somethin' 'bout my life" thread in recent months.

I hear Sweet-Rucker's liver is now in Steve Job's body.

Princess: being a moody bastard is an art -- I've been practicing it for years.
