VHM DC5, "Because", one of the loveliest ballads to come out of the British Invasion.

I guess a Beatles back-to-back is a given.  Hope you hear some Chuck Berry.  I'm at the Voice on a Mac with no media player installed, so I'll be in lurk-mode for the most part today.  Working a double-shift, which will be a nice boost to the pocketbook if a detriment to my slowly-normalizing sleep schedule (read: I got 8 hours sleep for three days in a row for the first time in several years).

Oh god, I cannot STAND that song.  Sorry to always be a contrarian -- so many of you are loathe to give WOS votes, you're too nice -- but that song grates on me like nails on a chalkboard.  And not just because the payoff verse has a "you / you" rhyme, though that definitely hurts.

You? A contrarian? au contraire!

But now I know why you hate Eddie Money's "Baby Hold On", which was surely inspired by "Because".

no back-to-back Beatles, BTW.  But per the pre-sell, Chuck Berry's in store.

VHM2 TV jingle medley: Slinky, Cootie and Ajax. So if your Slinky gives you cooties, you can wash 'em off with Ajax...

and here's Chuck, "Nadine", campaign shoutin' like a Southern diplomat.

VHM3 Elvis, "Viva Las Vegas" tasty cheese indeed.

Elvis must really be dead: the much-ballyhooed CBS Elvis miniseries got beaten by Desperate Housewives.  Where are all those "faith-based voters" now?

I don't know that 'we' are too nice, but I would say some people relish dishing a WOS more than others!

Wow, *four* songs I actively despise in that set!  Glad I missed it!

(Extra special relish on this WOS dog!!   )
