Yeah, it's crossed my mind that we don't hear nearly as much Motown or soul in general since AL took the reins. She didn't grow up in Detroit in the 60s, so not hard to figure.

That being said, both You Sexy Thing and Car Wash could def. be considered R&B.

yes -- I definitely noticed the lack of soul, overall.

and as if to rebut our opinion, she gives us Hot Choc and Rose Royce back-to-back.
