shrinky-dinks!  George Costanza's favorite toys!

"Call Me" seals the deal: it's 1980.
The winnah!

AL did say it started with a long string of wimmin.

"Call Me" is 80, ain't it?

Ayup.

If this is going to be an all-ladies set, I'm hoping for Charlie Dore.  Would Martha and the Muffins be date-appropriate?

they would -- and they'd become AL's 2nd potential katrina.

OMG! Ms Ronstadt goes "New wave", much to Mr Costello's chagrin.  VHM.

Maybe AL threw a curve -- actually a mystery theme set -- Chick Rock!

Maybe it's 1980 Chick Rock?

both Benatar & Heart were bustouts btw.

yes!  I love this one.  My first exposure to the song.  BOS Linda Ronstadt.  (never thought I'd type that.)

eta: and I'm positive I thought she cut this before 80, so I think it's chick rock, as they say

Nope, it's from 1980, I just checked, and I was right about the EC covers, this was one of three.

indeed, she did this, "Party Girl" and "Talking in the Dark" -- and had done "Alison" previously. And EC hated all of them.
