6 Aug 2009: it's... 1974!
« on: August 06, 2009, 09:48:21 AM »
I'm guessing '70s today and a theme of some sort tomorrow.

ETA: DING DING DING!

Todd and the Doobs to start.

the production on Dream Goes On Forever is nice, but Todd's voice sounds like someone attempting karaoke, esp on the flat (to my ears, anyway) line "one of life's biggest  tragedies".

oh yeah?  I didn't recognize this.  He's got a distinctive voice for sure, and his guitar playing is completely awesome (I saw him at last year's Hardly Strictly fest and I was brought to tears, literally), but I'm unfamiliar w her stuff.

I don't much like this Lover Lover... song (Leondard Cohen, I looked up), but it sure is a rarity.

yeah, not my favorite.  have you ever seen Robert Altman's McCabe And Mrs Miller?  great movie with  wonderful usage of Leonard's music.

Nope.  I'm not really a fan, but he does have some great songs.
