AL's whipped out a song I've never heard before.  Don't know who this is, neither.

Sounds a little like Huffamoose.

Google informs me that this is Dinosaur Jr, to go with the Jurassic intro.

I'm listening to LA's The Sound.

They played U2's Bad (live)

now they're doing I Don't Need No Doctor by Humble Pie.  not sure of the connection...

eta: the Humble Pie is also a live track.  This could be good.

cute. AL "whipping it out" conjures visions of strap-ons.  ;)  Dinosaur Jr woulf probably kick your ass for comparing them to Huffamoose.

BOS Pumpkins.  Listened to this album endlessly in 93-94.

proxy of gaz (I think), Smashing Pumpkins, who I never quite "got".  Just part of that whiny, "I'm a loser" movement of the time, to my ears.

Maybe you just hate it 'cause you got the title wrong: "She Don't Use Jelly".  Isn't that better?

OMG - BOS to The Flaming Lips!!!  Hits 106 had (and still does, as far as I know) "The Top 9 at 9" which I used to listen to every day (and kept records of, haha.)  For the longest time #1 on it was "Whiney Whiney" by Willi One-Blood, and I hated that song with a passion, so I kept on voting for "She Don't Use Jelly", which I didn't like that much either (esp. because incorrect grammar in the title irrirates me) but it looked like it was the contender most likely to knock WOB out of #1.  It did.  I loved that song ever since.

I was hoping for 1998, but I'll take this.  Looks like today's set is another trip down Hits 106 memory lane so far... Lenny Kravitz, the Pumpkins, the Flaming Lips.  At first I was afraid that she was going to do a dinosaur set...  :P

oh man, so sorry I missed this.  Did you ever see them do this on SNL?  that's when they had that freak Donald on guitar and he went apes*** w the psychadelic noize on this one.

Saw them on the Soft Bulletin tour at Maritme Hall.  BOS
