Check out that fuzz-tone guitar on the Carpenters!  Nice contrast to Karen's beautiful voice.  But weird.

There were easy-listening stations that loved the Carpenters but edited out the guitar part!

Rare glam twin-spin!  Good stuff, and a veritable fuzz-fest over the last three songs.

a T-Rex bustout?

This is most impressive -- it's not even one of the "hits" from the LP (even tho' it's the title track). I barely remember hearing this on the radio in '72, much less since. BOS4

I am thoroughly stumped by this song that followed the T. Rex--has a very Bowie-esque sound but can't be 'cause we just heard him. The glam-fest continues, that's for sure!

ETA: And I see Mike pegged it while I was typing. Amazing.

Rod the Bod brings us down to earth with "Hard Luck Woman" "You Wear it Well". A li'l old-fashioned, but that's all right.

They were faves on NYC prog-FM, but I'm amazed they were still recording in '72 -- the ELO/Wizzard split was just around the corner.

Best Movie Ever Made!

BOS6 (!) Nilsson's fantabulous "Jump Into The Fire".  (used brilliantly in another great film, GoodFellas)

I know it's not news at this point that AL has been out-doing herself on a regular basis, but this set is gobsmackingly  great.
