Ha Ha! The last song I heard in the car as I was getting in, probably at the same time as you were listeningto the Stones, was "Life's Been Good".

Twice in 15 minutes, guess it's safe to go to the bathroom now.

As you can see from my prev post, I do have a soft spot for "Blue Collar Man". But yeah, things were beginning to slide. "Babe" was where it all went to hell, tho'. Power ballads'll do that to ya.

And now for something completely different (not)...

...The Cars.

Although I have a much softer spot in my heart for Cars than for post '77 Styx.

I slept through the set, but I do have a question, since I wasn't really aware of Styx before "Too Much Time on My Hands" (I may have heard "Babe" previously, but it never registered): Did people really not think Dennis DeYoung was begging to move in a "Babe"-ward direction the whole time?  It sounds like the power ballad caught everyone by surprise, but to me in my hindsight, it seems his every move was inching toward that kind of pompous balladry.

Having said that, I do love "Blue Collar Man."  And "Babe."

Wow, funny that your first glimpse of Stxy was a song many saw as their Cars imitation (or at least an attempt to remain relevant in a New Wave landscape.)
