So what do you think is coming?  Ohio, Hotel California, Massachusetts, Texas Twister, New Hampshire (!), Mississippi Queen, Arkansas Traveller?

Hah! Looks like the skunked both of us on the California tune, Dave. Not a problem--California Girls is just as good a choice. (Now if she'd played LL Cool J's Goin Back to Cali that would have REALLY set me on my ear.)
I don't really need to hear Hotel California any more.  It's a great track, but played out.  Now if she'd played Diamond Dave's version of "California Girls", well, that would be something.  Not sure what it would be.

And we missed on Texas, too. Either of our picks would have been as good as Chris Rea.

Btw, I just got a hint from the player of what we have in store. Don't peek if you don't want to blow the surprise (but I'm pretty sure it's a bustout).
I guess it's not coming from vinyl  ;)

Interesting choice with Chris Rea's "Texas" (don't know if that's really what it's called).  Not a great song, but rare, fer sure.  Woulda liked to hear a little Lyle Lovett for this state.

That's Right (You're Not From Texas) would have been nice indeed.

I see we both nailed the BeeGees song. One out of three ain't bad. Except this sounds more like the Moody Blues Jayhawks than the BeeGees.
Let's get right to it.

er, no, it wasn't the Bee Gees, that's why I asked. Nice cover, but I'd've preferred the orig.

JT goes to Carolina. he's gonna hook up with Mark Sanford and "hike the Appalachian Trail", heh heh.

ETA: this isn't JT's orig either -- he re-did it, I guess.

Really?  I wish I'd listened more closely, 'cause I thought it was them.

They didn't vary from the BeeGees arrangement, but I'm pretty sure it was someone else, too.

Looks like we're finally on AL's wavelength. Sorry, Tink, here's that BJ tune you were dreading. But as an ex-pat New Yorker, I guess you're entitled.

Got my rescheduled phone meeting in about three minutes. So no cryptic song references from here on out, y'all--and be sure to post who was covering Massachusetts. :D

I could write a book.  Breakfast at Elephant & Castle on Greenwich Ave near 12th. No relation to the chain of the same name. I've been eating there since 1978. Best French Toast on the planet.  Good Burgers too.  More as I think of it.
