Quote from: mshray on June 19, 2009, 10:17:23 AMI suppose my least favorite Paul Simon tune was inevitable, but here's hoping "Cat's In The Cradle" is not.If we don't get Alice Cooper, then what was the point of making it "...& Grads"?I don't think of School's Out as a grad song, as much as I like it.

Quote from: ggould on June 19, 2009, 10:19:14 AMEven I'm not sappy enough for Jon Mayer!I tuned away from this one, but this song -- iirc -- seemed crafted to reveal the "sensitive" side of Jon Meyer. In other words, he was trying to get laid..

"Cat's in the Cradle" used to actually make me cry as a kid.

And I was a huge Chapin fan. He knew how to step right up to the sappy line without crossing it, most of the time ("W.O.L.D", "Circle"). So of course when he went overboard he scored a #1 single.
