The Drive, 6/19/09: 1974
« on: June 19, 2009, 07:54:29 AM »
I got a hunch about "Life is a Rock". Was hoping Bob'd do a Father's Day 10@10 to match his Mother's Day set last month. Or a Summer thang.

"what more can ah sayyyyy"

every time #9 Dream gets played, someone (most often RGM) quotes the gibberish chorus in a completely different way.  I lurve it!

More LSD! -- "LakeShore Drive" in this case.  BOS3 to an only-in-Chicago hit.

this is good radio.  I have never heard this to my knowledge, and if a 10 at 10 is supposed to encapsulate a specific  time (which we all want it to do at times ) it can also re-create a specific locale.

more regional radio!

indeed. Rob does this too, when he plays NY-centric stuff like Southside Johnny or obscure CBGBs bands.  Dave, not having grown up in SF did not have that sort of perspective in his 10@10s; nothing wrong with that, just... different.

is this guy scat singing "I am just a mullah?" -- it's hard to get good Muslim Rock, so I'll give it a VHM.
