The Peak, 6/10/09: 1993

hmm, oh well. Mazzy Star's Fade Into You is one that I know peripherally, sounds pretty good. but we'll see where this goes.

they mention the "first" World Trade Center bombing attack.   One woman remarked that "it took two hours to get down -- people were passing out."  :(

Here comes Candlebox w Far Behind. A band I ignored at the time, but years later I heard them being played at Amoeba one day and I was in the right mood for whatever reason and bought the album Happy Pills

Oh my my, oh hell yes, time to rev up the Katrina-fest.

Mary Jane's Last Dance -- at this point, pretty much all Tom Petty sounds like a Katrina to me. ... but TP was fun in concert - saw him at Berkeley's Greek a couple years ago -- won my tix from the Morning Show's 9 o'clock pop quiz!~

Followed by Counting Crows mumbling about ... something -- whatever.  player says it's called A Murder of One.  I stopped counting crows fairly early.  They were at the one Bridge School benefit concert I attended in ... '03?

LOL!

BOS A Bronx Tale -- Chazz Palminteri's shining hour. I'd say see this movie rather than Philadelphia.

how in heck did this Todd fellow get such a  big head when his music is so lame?  and why are monsters following him?  are these so-called "monsters" really just Deadheads looking for a new younger master to obey?

I keed!  I keed!

but the Monsters and their toe-jammy band ilk (DMB, let's throw the Crows in there, too) make me go .. meh.

Mazzy Star    --   Fade Into You
Candlebox    --   Far Behind
Tom Petty    --   Mary Jane's Last Dance
Counting Crows    --   A Murder of One
Lemonheads    --   Into Your Arms
Bruce Springsteen    --   Streets Of Philadelphia
Big Head Todd & The Monsters    --   It's Alright
Radiohead    --   Creep
Melissa Etheridge    --   Come To My Window
John Hiatt    --   Perfectly Good Guitar

BOS to Lemonheads, HM to Candlebox for sentimental reasons.

we note 2nd day for Hiatt's guitar.  Is there a term for the same song played in diff sets so close together?

shoulda slept in!   :)
