The Peak, 6/4/09: 1991

Rob pulls out a semi-rarity that I remember well: Live, "Pain Lies by the Riverside."  The boys from York did some great stuff early on but lyrically perhaps should have stayed in the shallow water.  Their end-of-'90s stuff was kind of embarrassing.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Smithereens' "Top of the Pops" is NTM.  Musically just like everything else they ever did.

Hrm... this is the 3rd late-'80s/early-'90s set Rob's done in a week. Hope that doesn't indicate a change in focus.

BOS the Carmen Sandiego theme!

I Did Not Know That: Rob says EMF's "Unbelieveable" has a sample of Andrew Dice Clay? I always thought they stole the title from them old Billy Crystal/Christopher Guest bit from SNL.
