1980 sounds better than 1987, which is at The Sound LA, but Lou Gramm's Midnight Blue does start off the LA set nicely!

"from the album 'Past Tense'"  ;)

Journey followed by APP are not floating my boat; could the 10@10 streak of good (non-'90s) sets be over?

wait -- what's this? "Set Me Free"? sounds Billy Joel-ish. ETA: it'sTodd/Utopia, a def rarity.

No clue.  Sounds like Styx cross-bred with Todd Rundgren.

BOSFRA to Utopia, Set Me Free. Not a blatant Todd tune, but I betcha it still gets BOS.

Btw, this set is from March 27, 2007, for those who like to read ahead.
Let's get right to it.

Who's the lead vocalist on this?  It isn't Todd, is it?

ETA: Per AMG, it's Kasim Sulton.  Uh, yah.

Whenever I hear this Journey song, I think of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack

No, I think it was Kasim Sulton, the bassist. He's the cuter, poppier one.

one of the most amazing omissions in all of Moreydom is that the Beatle-loving, Todd-loving Dave has never played anything from Utopia's Fab Four-soundalike LP, Deface the Music

BOS4 T-Heads -- another rarity. This is turning out pretty damn good after a shaky start.

This is really quite a set.  BOS for Talking Heads' "Houses in Motion".
