Second serving of cheese: "Too Much Time on My Hands."  Nice to hear this every once in a while, but I wish someone would occasionally play "Nothing Ever Goes As Planned."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  WOS2 Diesel, "Sausalito Summernight".  Bob's un-doing all the good he did the last 3 days of stellar sets.

I like it, but Stacy just called it "really dumb goobery made-for-tv song."

she did note they say "The Grapevines."  I mentioned they were a Dutch band, and she replied, "Ok, but Dutch doesn't mean dumb, does it?"    snap!

This song is a Naruda for both of us, too.

is that a Pablo Naruda?  (the term is "Narada" ,BTW).  But it was one for me too -- I can understand it getting Bay Area airplay, but Chicago?  Indeed, their sense of geography sucks.

BOS AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds", best of a rather painful lot this morning.

Foreigner - Jukebox Hero
Pat Benatar - Promises in the Dark
J. Geils Band - Centerfold
Tom Petty - The Waiting
Styx - Too Much Time on My Hands
Diesel - Sausalito Summer Nights
Genesis - Abacab
AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Steve Winwood - Arc of a Diver
Rush - Tom Sawyer

that was truly painful.  You'd never know '81 was the height of New Wave from that set.

???...the height of New Wave, by pretty much all accounts, was 1983.

MTV even commissioned a double disc of hits entitled The MTV Class of '83.  Something they never did before or since.

well, by then it had crossed over and was being seen on MTV, but for a NY'er with proximity to CBGBs etc, our local rock radio was awash in "skinny-tie" bands and Costello wannabes from '79 thru '82.
