and speaking of cover versions, it must be 1974 in LA, since the Stones Ain't Too Proud To Beg.

how old were you in '73?

I was 10.  I have memories of all kinds of songs from about '69-'73, but the only ones I can remember I ALWAYS got excited to hear & told whoever was in the car (usually listening to WABC) to be quiet were this & Smokey's Tear of a Clown.

Later in '73 we moved to St. Louis & I got into music much more directly, buying my own 45's with my allowance money, getting my own radion for my bedroom, etc.
