BOS Doors Changeling

indeed -- one you never hear, and one that has (thankfully) nothing to do with the Angelina Jolie film of the same title.

Maggie May. Then again, she may not. 2nd overplayed "classic" of set (after "Amer Pie").

the "extended" verse, nyuk nyuk:

"...and if I swallow anything evil
-- or that gives me an erection that lasts more than four hours
-- stick your fingers down my throat,
and contact my doctor."

Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll
Stevie Wonder - If You Really Love Me
Five Man Electrical Band - Absolutely Right
Don McLean - American Pie
Doors - Changeling
Ringo Starr - It Don't Come Easy
John Lennon - Jealous Guy
The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
Bread - Let Your Love Go
Rod Stewart - Maggie May

Major kudos to Bob for that rare upbeat Bread tune, which only got to #28.

With ya on that, TC. I remember being SICK. TO. DEATH. of it when it was still a hit in 71, as top 40 was playing it twice an hour. I've since gotten over it, and mostly really enjoy it now.

A number of years ago I saw Jonathan Richman on a night when he was suffering from a froggy throat, but soldiering on regardless. He apologized, and somebody in the crowd yelled out something about him sounding like Rod Stewart. Jonathan shot back the first few lines of Maggie May, then just went with it and did the whole song. A great moment.
Let's get right to it.

BOS Doors Changeling

Sorry to have missed that one; I remember playing it a lot during my senior year of college ('94-'95).
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
