RIP WLNG's Paul Sidney
« on: April 02, 2009, 09:18:19 AM »
The founder/owner/manager of the world's most wonderful oldies station died early this morning. No link (it's a pretty local-to-LawnGuyland story) but they're saluting him all day on the air and the stream is here:

Sidney started the station in 1963 and they're still going strong. Unique and one of the last remaining mom-and-pop radio stations.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Speaks to their demographic.  have you ever heard the obits called "The Irish Sports Page?"

I'm tuning in now. Wow, I feel like it's 1963.  Love the Sag Harbor Variety store commercial.  the station ID jingle w the cchorus.  awesome !
