it's either that or a '90s snoozer, I'm guessing.

I truly HATE it when Dave plays re-releases that are more commonly identified with the year of their original incarnation.  I don't think of "I Melt With You" when i think 1990, and neither does any one else.  I'm really bailing now.

BTW, LA is doing 1979.

We heard Rosanne Barr massacre the National Anthem.   I like her in general, but that was too much.

"I'll Melt With You"  ... I always thought it was from earlier, like in the 80s

not sure who does this instrumental, but Mike's instinct to bail is looking like the right one - it's a lackluster set so far.

I'll chk back later

Like Fame 1990 - never got that one.

Also - the forum was wigging out on me - only giving 1 seconds before a timeout warning.

Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson--they're pretty interchangeable.

Now it's Black Velvet--another meh tune.
Let's get right to it.

that was Johnson.  I've seen him in concert twice now, once in 1991 with Satriani & once last fall as part of that Experience Hendrix show Wayback & I attended.  He was pretty awesome both times.  But I'm sticking with 1979 this morning.

Just in case anyone is tempted to stick around, here's what you have to look forward to.  This must have been one of Dave's earliest 1990 sets, because it was already a classic in April 2003.

1.) Black Crowes - Jealous Again
2.) Modern English - I Melt With You
3.) Eric Johnson - Trademark
4.) Alannah Myles - Black Velvet
5.) Rolling Stones - Almost Hear You Sigh
6.) Church - Metropolis
7.) Jellyfish - I Wanna Stay Home
8.) Rembrandts - Burning Timber
9.) Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues
10.) Billy Idol - Cradle Of Love

Roseanne Barr's funniest line ever:

"My mother always told me that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.  This is not true.  The way to a man's heart is through his ribcage."

"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."
