6 February 2009--it's...whistle rock!
« on: February 06, 2009, 10:00:23 AM »
Oh jeez.

Originally aired March 2, 2007, and replayed twice since then, prior to today. Does that make this "classic" a katrina?

(Aside: I notice that Webster is now signing off the morning show at around 9:55.)

Oh jeez.

ditto jeez -- this is the 3rd (4th?) time we've heard this set, no?  I'd've preferred a 4th (5th) rerun of "horn rock" if we had to hear a moldy oldie.

If we don't get a date-specific set next Friday (either Fri the 13th or Valentines or --ideally -- both) I'm gonna be quite annoyed.

I'm sure I missed this set the first time around.  Listening while working, prolly won't get to post much.

Wop! Wop! Wop! David insults his Eye-talian fans. And he'll do it again on Casey's Feb '76 countdown tomorrow.

indeed -- a SetTrina, or a KatSet or something. (and there aren't many in this category -- horn rock would be another.)  But 4 airings in less than 2 years is a record of some sort.

At least playing a theme set on a Friday is more in keeping with the established "rules"--preferable to hearing 1989 or some s*** like that.

True -- I was fully expecting 1992.  But I'd've certainly preferred a Soul Patrol. But I'm guessing maybe this one was popular with Fogheads -- maybe Greg (or whoever) is trying to honor requests while Dave's away.

BOS to "Hocus Pocus," which shockingly was never covered by Krokus.

It's possible that Hocus Pocus has the distinction of being the song to have appeared in the most different theme sets, with five: Strictly Instrumental, Turkey Day (three different ones), Kaboom 2004, Whistle Rock, and the Harry Potter Magic set. And it's been in one 1973 set.

BOS from me as well.
Let's get right to it.
