What'd you think of Twin Peaks?

Btw, The Elephant Man was a Lynch film too, wasn't it?

Twin Peaks, again, was the epitome of "willfully obscure", I watched it for a couple of weeks and lost interest. And as I added above, I've never seen EM but I probably should.

VHM Sting. This really was one of Dave's better '86 efforts, and we didn't even get the Blow Monkeys.

Gotta say, the array of classics we've been treated to lately have been a cut above what we're normally given.

Agreed that there was a bunch of out-of-left-field imagery in TP, but it was weird enough to keep you coming back to see what he'd come up with next. Also, there was enough of a plot to string you along, and it was pretty sexy to boot.

You definitely should see Elephant Man--John Hurt is incredible, one of the great roles of his career.

"I Claudius": He plays Caligula in a few of the episodes (the entire mini-series runs 10 episodes or so, and is fantastic):

I think the stream just got blown off for the bonus track again--just had about 10 minutes of ads, followed by an abrupt segue into Another One Bites The Dust. Given the irregularity of how we hear it sometimes, and sometimes we don't, I have to think this is a human error rather than computer.

You definitely should see Elephant Man--John Hurt is incredible, one of the great roles of his career.

He'd likely have won the Oscar in most other yrs, but had the misfortune to be nominated in 1981, when no one had a chance against DeNiro for Raging Bull.  Likewise two years later no one really had a chance against Ben Kingsley for Gandhi.  Dustin Hoffman's Tootsie & Paul Newman's The Verdict performances in 1983 could have been selected in other years.  And poor Peter O'Toole, nommed for The Stuntman in '81 & My Favorite Year in '83, two performances that I loved, but were barely even mentioned as also-rans.  (Jack Lemon also got nommed in both those yrs, but probably shouldn't have, imho)
