The Peak, 01/02/09: It's 1981
« on: January 02, 2009, 07:09:02 AM »
Came in a few minutes late for the first new set of the year.  Something from Steve Winwood faded out as a Penthouse ad came on, and then BOS: Gary U.S. Bonds' "This Little Girl."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

HM to Phil Collins, "I Missed Again" - love the horns (EWF, I think).

HM to little-played ELO, "Twilight."  Although it makes me wish I were still in bed (it's cold, and I have to leave for work in an hour ... sigh).

The Bonds is truly wonderful, sorry I missed it -- Rob's the only one who plays it.  Oddly, his early stuff (which Springteen, Little Steven and many others worship) strikes me as pretty awful, even for "frat-rock". "Dear Lady Twist" is just a terrible song -- "get up from out your chair"?
