In a year like 1969, I want  to hear things that are off my beaten track.  Sly and The Who are so familiar that they don't really get me that jazzed, even though they are true classics.  But wen something like Crazy Elephant comes up, I do feel sort of transported back to a diff time.  I hope Dave throws in some good news clips or commercials before I have to sign off.

from Atlanta, Georgia! Crazy Elephant, a personal fave but proxy of GazWOS.

I didn't know you knew how I felt about that one.  Yuck.  Studio musicians who could barely play their instruments - what a concept.  (Worst. Guitar. Solo. EVER.)

And the whole stinkin' thing is brought to you by...

...Sly and the Family Stone?  No, some motorcycle show.  Weird -- I didn't know the Big Rick motorhead-type was such a big demographic of KFOG.

(Yes, listening and on the forums here live, for once.)

Dave's a biker too you know.

Whoops, true that.  I guess when I hear "motorcycle show" I don't think of laid back "Easy Rider" types, but more like, "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY" monster truck type crowds.  Well, that and a bunch of Asian kids on their Hondas and Kawasakis spinning donuts and doing wheelies.

Webster, eh?  Well, could be worse.  He's a reasonable guy; I heard him on Alice before he came to KFrOG, or should I say, KmsPIGgie?

He was on KPIG too?

Oh my -- I. Ron Butterfly!
No, that was a weak link to Miss Piggie calling into the morning show to pitch the muppet special on tonight.

Yesh, weak, but it reminds me that I've got to schedule the Tivo to record that for the kids.

I'm so TOTALLY looking forward to it!

Check out a clean-shaven Bob Seger singing this song on TV in '69:

This cracked me and my wife up, as did the other poster's Rudolph/Prancer take on it.

Yeah, we knew we'd hear early Seger!

What else would we expect from a kid from Detroit?

Yeah, we knew we'd hear early Seger!

See, if Crazy Elephant had had talent, "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'" would have sounded like "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man."

It's the 'Ooo! Dave seems to work them into '69 sets almost as often as he does the Beatles (yay).

Actually it's 2 to 1 in favor of the Fabs (35 to 18befroe today in the Db), but then again most of the 'Oo cuts are multi-track or lengthy tunes like "Overture/It's A Boy", "Amazing Journey/Sparks" or "Underture".

Chalk up another BOS for Seger Ramblin & Gamblin'

Speaking of Muppets -- this very strange link showed up on Boingboing.net today:

Then you're probably not so jazzed to hear Cinnamon Girl for the umpteenth time either. I kinda feel ya on this one--love the song but it's SO not a rarity that I can't get excited about it.
Let's get right to it.
