Will Obama's election change Black Music? I think this article overreaches, but food for thought anyway:

I would LOVE to see R&B and hip-hop swing back from the bitch-ho-pimp-strippa-playa paradigm to something a little more human.

This NY Times parody (as much a parody of Obaman "hope" as of the Times itself) was apparently available on NYC newsstands today -- I, er, hope Gaz was able to snag a copy!

I have drunk many a drink in the bar of the Driskill Hotel on business trips to Austin, stayed there once, and even bought myself a Driskill Hotel polo shirt.  I can totally imagine being there with the writer of the article.

Check out the following comment to another article linked to this one:

This is the deal. The bus is leaving for the 21st Century. Either climb aboard or be miserable and continue to wallow in your narrow thinking & intolerant views.

Alas, by the time I found out about it, it was too late - but if I snag a copy somehow, I'll bring it next month.  Meantime, you can download the whole thing as a PDF.

I checked out one of the stories and started reading the comments.  This one was a garbled delight:

I hope that Mr. Bush will rest his life in peace in a freaky prison.
Best regards from old europe!

I couldn't find a smaller version of this, but DAYUM! Sexy people in the White House!

Down the block from my office in Oaktown, there's a guy who's been selling Obama buttons & shirts since the summer. My favorite, unveiled after the election: "I voted for THAT ONE!"

Bumping this thread back up; surprised Gaz or someone hasn't commented on the Rick Warren-at-the-inauguration story.  "Ah am much much unhappy" about it.  Flock Rick Warren and his fuck, er, I mean, fuck Rick Warren and his flock.
