OTOH, Thorogood is WAAAY handsomer than Ocasek.
interesting comparison.  While Ocasek had no less than 3 songs that peaked at #41 on the Hot 100, Lonesome George never charted anywhere other than Mainstream Rock Tracks, where he had a #2, #3, #4, and a #5 hit.

I defy anyone to name his highest charting hit, which came in 1993.

I wanna say it was a re-released "Bad to the Bone" which got serious (over-)exposure back then in movies and commercials. If not "BTTB" then I've no clue.

I have actually heard that once -- iirc, somebody (Ginger? Rob?) played it and it was  something of a "WTF?" moment. Or maybe I heard it on KCDX...

I think he said something like "Bands today have to have a sense of humor to survive. Otherwise you sound like Journey." Then someone else chimes in, "That's not very nice," and he responds, "OK, Jefferson Starship then."
