Bob ends the week with a great year... wonder if Dave'll do the same?

Now, if we *really* want some San Francisco girls with their San Francisco ways, we should get the Jefferson Airplane's "Greasy Heart," the greatest single ever to peak at #98.

For god's sake, Mrs Robinson! stop trying to seduce the princess!

She'd rather seduce YOU.

I feel like I should seek out more '68-'69 Steve Miller.  This track ain't bad, and I have come to love "Space Cowboy."

I've always been fond of Ophelia Lite.

BOS 2: "America".  Finally heard that live Bowie version of this on DDT yesterday.

Love the reference to "Mrs Wagner pies". Do they still sell those in NYC?

BOS1 to S&G.  Even if the man in the gabardine suit is kind of a silly verse, there's so much poignance in this tune that I sometimes have to not listen too closely.  My love-hate relationship with America, for ya.

I don't need to ever hear "Respect" or "Think" again.  Sorry I'm taking them for granted, but there's so much else to explore in the Aretha catalogue.

I wouldn't know one if it hit me in the face.  What are they?

They're those little snack pies that you can hold in your hand (here in SF they sell "Home Run Pies").  Mrs Wagners were big in the '60s & early '70s and I can't remember when I last saw one.

Amen to that.  2 fave Aretha songs Dave & Bob have never played:

"Don't Play That Song"
"Share Your Love with Me"

I could go without "Magic Carpet Ride" for a real long time too...
