OK, we're all getting old but check out these Billy Ocean then and now pics:

Oh my.

OK, he's a couple months past 59, so he's no youngster, but he'd look a helluva lot younger if he lost the white beard, and reined in the dreads a bit.

What's the big deal?  He can look as old as he wants, right?  What is the hang up in this country with appearing young?

Of course. It's his choice, and he's chosen a Rasta-Kenny Rogers motif.  I've got plenty of salt in my once-peppery goatee.  But the contrast is striking, that was my point.

All right then... maybe I'm just being too sensitive since I'm all salt these days.  Or maybe salt and white pepper.  :P

You might find it fun to know that Go-Go's drummer Gina Schock was at my work the other day, the veterinary hospital, an emergency with her dog.  The name looked familiar, so I did a quick Google search and confirmed it from her photo and it says she lives in SF.  More:

I didn't get to talk with her, I had noticed the name on list of day's clients, then looked up her info in our client database, it was her alright.

TANC, sorta, since we discussed him here recently. Captain Sensible's in town. And Aidin Vaiziri does a relatively (for him) straightforward interview:

Tommy James' autobiography is out -- and may become a movie directed by Marty Scorsese!

A Comcast.net feature on OHWs:

Here's another "where are they now" feature from Spin. Justine Frischmann (ex-Elastica) is now a painter in San Rafael--who knew?!?

http://www.spin.com/gallery/spins-where-are-they-now?page=1#main

I like this one better than the Comcast one as it actually tells what all of the artists are doing now. The Comcast piece disregards its "where are they now" premise and provides precious little current info, with a few lame album covers as art.

Well, that's Comcast for ya -- they come up as my home page since I got their hi-speed 'net, and I clicked the link.  But meanwhile 30 Rock wasted no time satirizing them (and their acquisition of NBC) in last week's episode -- they call them "KableTown".
