Those who listen to AT40 on KFRC 1550-AM might want to stay tuned for the rest of the day; True Oldies Channel is doing a "2-Hit Wonder Weekend", acts that just had 2 hits (Climax Blues Band, for one example).

First band that comes to mind is Nekkid Eyes, though I don't know if they quite classify as true oldies.  (Even though it's been, what, almost 30 years!)  Yoicks.

Some Sunday Pink stories show up early -- like this one -- it will move along and live forever as a Sunday eventually.

Big heads-up for next Monday nite: Jim Rigsbee, KPOO's oldies guy, will be doing a all-Philles Records show, as in the Spector stuff. Ronettes, Crystals etc etc. he'll be playing most of the singles in chronological order.  Should be awesome.

"Jack Johnson is the Jimmy Buffett of today...without the sense of humor." Sez Big Rick.  Hahaha
There's also a couple of subtle KFOG disses in his interview.  Interesting read.

there's also a podcast you can listen to.

The interviewer is Paul Kilduff, whose father (Marshall Kilduff) works at the Chronicle, writing for the Op-Ed page.

"KFOG, where they claim to play a mix of new and old rock. (One caveat: the new stuff must sound exactly like the old stuff.)" Word!

This must have been written before DC's shift in format was enacted last month. Either that or PK isn't paying much attention.

Also: I would submit that Robert Earl Keen is the alt-country Jimmy Buffett. And a fair number of his fans are alt-country parrotheads.
Let's get right to it.

update: Paul is NOT the son of Marshall.  Just wanted to set the record straight.

Just happened to tune past Live 105 and they're doing a "Nuthin' But the '90s" weekend. Hrm... is somebody feeling the "new" KFOG breathing down their neck, perhaps? Heard "Semi-Charmed Life" and "Beautiful Oblivion" in the few minutes I listened.
