sounds like they're having a senior, er... Oldies moment!  BWAHAHHA!

And -- oxymoron alert! -- they're "the NEW Oldies 103.7". As someone on radio-info asked, "what about OLD oldies?"
and here's what they're playing:  http://www.oldies1037.com/iplaylist/playlist.html

"The Band" didn't last too long.

Another format change: 95.7 The Wolf (which recently acquired the A's) has dropped country for all-sports

http://www.957thewolf.com/index.php

The "first sports station on FM" in the Bay Area.  I see Sharks and A's pics on the website; presumably they'll simulcast the Sharks with K-Fox thru the playoffs and Stanley Cup (if we're lucky) and then take over the games next season? (both stations are owned by Entercom).

ETA: further explanation from the A's Blog on sfgate...

Another big surprise in Bay area radio Arbitron ratings: KQED is now #1 in the April book, ahead of KCBS, KOIT, KNBQ and KMVQ. And former perennial kingpin KGO isn't even in the top 5. (They're tied for #6 with KYLD.)
Let's get right to it.

This year, the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame has listed 91 (!) nominees in seven categories. Voters are asked to select one for each category, although more than one may be inducted.  Nominees:

I'm down for Rosalie, but a little surprised that Kim Wonderley is also nommed, in the Specialty division for KCBS traffic.
Let's get right to it.

I'm thinking anyone who's worked X-number-of-years in SF automatically gets on the ballot?  I still remember when Kim abruptly left KFOG in a huff, setting the stage for Renee's big break.

heading over to get an oilchange this morning I inadvertantly flipped over to Kevin & Bean on Live 105 (I mean, I hated those guys when the were on KROQ, and I certainly didn't hear them that much even then).

Anyhooo...they were conducting a phone interview with some female person who had set the Guinness World Record for receiving three thousand two hundred and some body piercings.

Maybe that idiot in Oakland is right, the world really IS coming to an end.

Although my dislike of Alan Sniffen is well-documented, his "Rewound Radio" website is doing a salute to legendary WABC jock Dan Ingram on 4th of July weekend. It's keyed to the 50th anniv of Dan's debut on WABC in 1961. For those non-NYers and younger folks who've heard me and urth reference Dan over the years, it's a chance for you to hear unedited airchecks of his stuff -- all the original songs and commercials and of course his many hilarious bits of shtick.
