oh if only Ginger would play Hanson in this best-year-of-the-'90s-for-pop.

But instead Johnny Lang leads us off.

Agreed, but just yesterday Benson played some new JB, and he whipped out a great piece of trivia, can't believe I had never heard this before on our board (or worse, missed it if y'all *had* mentioned it).

Q:  What is Jackson Browne's real first name?

ETA: no peeking!

This *is* 1997 to me -- lots of Live 105 that year.  I predict Mighty Mighty Bosstones and/or Chumbawumba before this is over.

BOS3 King of the Hill -- one of the most underrated shows on TV, hard to believe it's been around 11 years!

WTF? "Silver Springs"? a live version?  that's cheating, Ginger.

Not if it's a Studio C recording.  At least KBCO jocks, both Marcus and Ginger, have been consistent about that.

And this is a very nice version IMHO.

nice but not terribly diff from the orig. I prefer tracks that are truly "new" from the year in question.

BOS4FRA Space Hog.

Wow, second Big Effin BOS vote from me, in a '97 set no less.

L O V E  this Space Hog tune.  It always made me crank up the strereo 11 yrs ago when I was a devoted Live105 listener in their heyday.

As soon as I posted that I began to think that whatever originality I was getting in the first half had been abandoned in the second half.

of course, we've discussed what a good year '97 was generally, but it truly was a peak for Live 105 -- and the reverse for KFOG, which missed the boat on most of the great tracks Live105 played that year. ("Female of the Species", Cornershop, etc etc) I listened to Live105 a lot too that year, when I wasn't tuning in Z-95.7 to hear Hanson's "M-M-M-Bop", which they were playing every 2 hours like clockwork that summer.
