Set still going!? I'm reading POC's recent journal, http://ameliaraymusic.blogspot.com/

VHM "Tough It Out" by Danny something or other.

Maybe this is a message to Obama, and the TotHK was a comment on Palin?

Err, Webb Wilder. (You were maybe thinking of Danny Gatton? Another Nashville telecaster slinger, died tragically a few years later.)

VHM Matthew Sweet, I've Been Waiting. I hear he has a new record due.
BOS Smithereens, Now & Then--probably as close to a bustout as we're gonna get today.

yeah, I was confusing him with Danny Gatton.  Thanks for the catch.

I don't know Matthew Sweet's stuff that well (I suppose I can recognize "Girlfriend" when I hear it), but I did hear a couple tracks from his collaboration w Suzanna Hoffs  -- "Under the Covers Vol. 1."  I really liked their version of "I See The Rain" (orig by  Marmalade)

Back in the day I always confused Jesus Jones and EMF, both highly associated with '91 for me.

Me too, and they appear side by side in many a set from '91 by Dave.

For me the EMF hasn't held up, but Jesus Jones still works.

Hee!  I guess I'm not bashful about touting my underserved faves.

So is the new M. Sweet him solo, or Under the Covers Vol. 2?  I'd much rather get the latter.

Sorry to disappoint, but I think it's him solo.
Let's get right to it.

I don't listen all the time and missed today (will be sure to miss tonight's replay) but it seems like Dave plays 1991 every week. I know he doesn't but it just seems like he does.

Ha! that's MY line!  But as we've discussed here recently, he HAS been doing a lot more '90s sets -- nearly one every week in the last 2 months, whereas a year ago we'd get a '90s set maybe once every 3 weeks.
