KBCO, 9/2/08: 1990

despite it's katrina-ness, CB's "Joey" is still one of the great singles of the '90s. a decade earlier it might've hit #1.  VHM with an option to upgrade.

Mr Cray says the forecast calls for pain, and sure enuf we get a clip from Joe vs. the Volcano, one of the great flops of the last 20 years.  But there'll be pay in yer pocket tonight, say the Oils. VHM "BSM"

BOS from me - JN's best vocal for the band, for my money.  That it was a hit was rewarding.

TANC: I was listening to Glen Campbell's new take on "These Days" just a little while ago.

Del Amitri: The Cars of the early '90s (in terms of 10@10 play, that is). "Stone Cold Sober" (NOT the Crawler song) is NTM.

Now THIS is how 1990 sounded to me.  BOS to Lightning Seeds, "Pure."  He had a string of fine singles throughout the '90s, all more obscure than this.

Anyone know the story behind the home team tearing down the goalposts in a loss?  Couldn't make out the college name - Missouri?

I always hate these "before they were famous" tracks that Ginger and others trot out on 10@10. Snooze Traveler were certainly getting no love from radio in 1990 that I know of.

That was the year Colorado won the title (shared it actually), but in their game against Mizzou they had to come back in the last minute to win, and having gone for it and failed on 3rd down, the went for it and scored on fourth down.  Except that it was really already fourth down, and they scored the winning touchdown on FIFTH down.
