Maybe not to everyone's tastes, but

DAMN!  I LIKE IT!

I can't even begin to describe all the ways that I like it, but as an achievement in the graphic arts it is simply unprecedented.  Nothing like this has been done before (maybe only the beautiful but flawed Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow can even be compared to it).


If you like any of the following:

film noir
Quentin Tarantino
graphic novels
Bruce Willis
anime
neo-classical comic book art (Steranko, Kirby, Adams, all of whom receive special thanks in the end credits)
Mickey Rourke (I'm not ashamed to admit it)
and good old-fashioned american violence, then you'll love this film.

Yeah, I've been hearing good things about this movie. I may have to drag my skinny ass out to see it on the big silver.

This should probably be in the Movie Thread (sorry, I'm anal) but yeah, I'm curious and hope to see it within the week. It seems to be one of those love-it-or-hate-it deals.
