Easily my favorite Cars song.  I used to play this Every. Damn. Morning. before leaving for school.  Usually I'd also play Billy Joel's "Pressure," which my mom eventually found unnerving.

I will never forget hearing that line for the first time. My friend George and I (2 music geeks) were driving around Queens listening to the late great WPIX-FM,  a New Wave-heavy rock station at a time when that was rare, and the DJ said "here's a brand new song from Talking Heads".  When Byrne sang that line we both laughed out loud. Good times.

Most folks I know associate this Henley LP with '85, however.  VHM to having one's hair slicked back and one's Wayfarers on.

BOS3 to "Back on the Chain Gang," Chrissie's acknowledgement that someone else's failures won't stop her from moving forward.
