Just tuned in--first I heard clips of gay-themed songs from the 20s and 30s, then some Stonewall soundbites (all new stuff, iird), and now it's Legalize Our Love (which is def. not new).  Not sure how much I missed.

Not much really, Dave did a little bit of intro about how he went about the set.  The clips from the 20's and 30's started things off.

I just remembered a song Dave should play, I forget who did it, but it was called "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" & it was basically the music track of "Ca Plane Pou Moi" with different lyrics.

The repeated part where the original goes "ca plane pour moi" is changed to "he gave me head".

Sounds like when he said "mix it up" he meant with the clips. Outside of the Anita pieface clip, just about everything else has been new. Songs, not so much. VHM Lou Reed, walkin' on the wild side.

ETA: I'm thinking it's important to remember Dave's declaring this set "a labor of love." Mark has speculated in the past that this is a tribute to Dave's partner who passed away from AIDS in '93, and as such I think the songs relate directly to him in some way we can't know. So I hereby retract my kvetching about hearing the same songs every year.

Work distracted me, so I'll have to try to catch the replay of this.  Here for Ani D's "In or Out," a VHM.

Especially the version on his double live set from the 80's, recorded in Australia in which he dedicates the song to the victorious Aussie Rugby World Cup champs.

Like the Timbuk3, my love for JJ knows no bounds, whether or not it pops up in a Pride set.
