Dave, do you recall when we were at the Bruce concert & when the 1st notes of "She's The One" came on I leaned over and said that this was my favorite song with the Bo Diddley beat and wouldn't it be cool if KFOG did a whole set of them?
Fraid I don't; apparently, I don't even remember where I heard it.  Oh well, brain not what it used to be, if it ever was.

Think I'll have a lil' picnic this weekend:

I've got the album for which this is the cover.

At the Oakland Arena, the first show.  Rich & his budddy were down on the floor.

Yeah, I figgered it out.  But my earlier post said that I heard it in SJ.

Sorry to have missed "The Magic Bus", but who knew "American Woman" & "Rosanna" had the beat?

ETA: I guess I didn't miss them, so much as Dave didn't play them.  Don't want to confuse anyone who reads this post but missed the set.

So, a quick Db analysis.  Bo Diddley makes his artist debut in the Db.  The BowWowWow & the George T. tunes get only their 2nd spins, and surprisingly the Bruce was only the 3rd appearance.  Closest thing to a Katrina is (equally surprisingly, imho) "Faith".

ETA: missed it the first time around, but the Stones & Clapton were also a bustouts, and the U2 was also only the 2nd time around.

So any time you get 3 bustouts and 3 only-once-befores, you have to conclude that this was a GREAT set.

I actually think Clapton's cut is very good.  The beat really has that floating thing going on.

06/06/2008 - FRIDAY! Today it's..."The Beat"....(Bo Diddley)!!

1.   Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley
2.   Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
3.   Rolling Stones - Not Fade Away
4.   David Bowie - Panic in Detroit (BEST OF SET!!)
5.   Eric Clapton - Willie & the Hand Jive
6.   George Thorogood & the Destroyers - Who Do You Love
7.   Bruce Springsteen - She's the One
8.   George Michael - Faith
9.   Pretenders - Cuban Slide
10.   U2 - Desire

BONUS TRACK:  Beck - Black Tamborine
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

BOS2 "Panic in DEE-troit", tho' I think its inclusion is a tad questionable -- a little too slow to be truly Diddleyish, IMHO.
Yeah, might as well include "Spiders & Snakes" if you're going this route.  Still and all, well played.
