30 May 2008--it's 1970
« on: May 30, 2008, 10:00:35 AM »
This may be the last set I get to participate in the discussion in real time for awhile. Monday's my last day, but I have no idea if I'll be able to spend much time at my desk or not, what with paperwork and exit interviews and all.

So 1970 is a good way to go out, I think.

"The war is done," Christie sing in your general direction.  :)  (BOS1 to "Yellow River.")

And may I take this opportunity to say: much much good luck in the Portland endeavor. Your presence will be missed, bub.  Wish it had been possible for us all to get together for margaritas before you leave.

I'll be out of the loop for most of next week, in terms of real-time posting, as I have a work conference in San Jose, Mon thru Thurs. Not happy about it, given the price of gas.

25 or 6 to 4. My fave Chicago song ever since I was in high school, and Terry Kath's best guitar solo on record.
Let's get right to it.

always glad to hear 1970, which is strangely enough by far the rarest year between 1968-1989 over the last 4 years:

1967   12
1968   32
1969   34
1970   23
1971   28

1975   37
1976   43
1977   41
1978   44
1979   38
1980   39
1981   41
1982   42
1983   45
1984   38
1985   38
1986   32
1987   32
1988   28
1989   26
1990   23

Echoing Mike's wishes, Jim.  Safe travels, and let us know when you're settled in to the new sitch.

Mike - Caltrain not an option?  That's how I attended a conference in SJ some years ago.

Was that a bit of the Inna Gadda da Vida drum solo there behind Dickie, before Shakin' All Over faded in?

I am sure I will not disappear from here entirely (and eventually I hope to be as frequent a participant as I've always been). I'll need to keep some of my local routines just to ease the transition to my new situation, so I imagine I'll post something in a week or two (and I could pop in on Monday for a bit, too).
Let's get right to it.

Likewise on the best wishes, and also likewise on being out of pocket next week.  I'm in SD Sun-Thurs for a conference.
