Judge's flashback of the day (so far): The Jets, "Rock it to You"

followed by Prince, "We are the New Power Generation" -- lay down your funky weapons!

Got a bit weary of Judge's Malcolm X birthday salute (basically uninterrupted speechifying) after 20+ minutes, and switched to SoulClassics24/7 -- I'm hearing Grayson Hugh's wonderful "Talk it Over" for the first time in years.

I'd forgotten how silly the "Rocket 2 U" video was.  It's like Andrew Ridgeley discovered he had numerous Tongan siblings while hosting Pee-wee's Playhouse.

Somebody call Casey Kasem: JJ on KPOO is playing Brook Benton... and he doesn't sound like Roger Wittaker at ALL.

CGSS disco-very of the week: Creative Source's cover of "Who Is He and What Is He To You?", in a 12" remix that sounds like imitation Norman Whitfield circa '72.

WLNG resurrects a lost slice of bubblegum: Street People with "Jennifer Tomkins" (not to be confused with "Jennifer Eccles" or "Jennifer Juniper" or 27 Jennifers).

This week's Idiot's Delight starts off with Vin heaping praise on the California Supreme Court for last week's gay marriage decision. He then follows with a lengthy set dedicated to the Golden State. Def. worth a listen:

(The May 17 show is the one you want.)
Let's get right to it.

Useless trivia: written and sung by none other than Rupert Holmes.

OMG! I'd completely forgotten that connection!  First time I'd ever heard it the song, actually. Totally didn't recognize his voice. Thanks!
