I'm generally not a big fan of her boho bop, but I'll HM that one.

WOS = "Havin' a Party."  Love SSJ, but despise that song.

"despise" is such an extreme word.  Because why? 

I find the refrain unmelodic and the "cokes in the icebox" lyrics too kiddieland.  Personal prefs, etc. (And re the original, I always hated the sound of Sam Cooke's voice.)

well, like most hits of its period, it wasn't written with adults in mind.
