She and her husband successfully defended their interracial marriage to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1967, resulting in the abolition of state miscegenation laws.

Thanks for that!  I always wanted to know more about the abolition of the miscegenation laws (for obvious reasons). Mildred is a hero to me.

I always thought that their name was Loving was pretty cool too.
