I mostly dig this song, but the one thing I don't like is when those over-the-top jungle sound effects come in - in my head I picture a gaggle of Muppets entering the scene.

Who was that as SNL's first female host?  From the voice I'm guessing Candace Bergen, but logic would have dictated Lily Tomlin or somesuch ...

I was interrupted and missed it, but i believe it was Candice. A Christmas episode in Dec '75, iirc.

That's a big fat proxy of me as well.  In fact it's one of the tunes I requested on my b-day when Ginger let me know she was hitting '75 that day.
