TANC:  Just yesterday my email banter friends and I were riffing off of 2001 / 2010 -- they were off on the movie characters and I went in with Arthur C. Clarke.  Which sent me off into Wikipedia for a while, etc...  Of the big three of classic scifi (Heinlen, Asimov and Clarke), I probably enjoyed Clarke the most.  They're making a movie of Rendezvous With Rama, coming out in 2009.

TANC II:  last week I went into a bookstore for the first time since before Xmas.   Found myself thumbing through a couple of the Rama books & wondering to myself if Clarke was still around (& if so how old must he be) or if I'd missed his passing.

I've been a great admirer of your books for quite a time, and have always wanted to discuss with you the possibility of doing the proverbial 'really good' science-fiction movie.
