And from the 1985 chart I count 24 songs which I'd love to hear on a 1984 or 1985 10@10 that have been completely, or at least mostly, absent...

indeed, most of those were on my "wish list" in the AL request days. I lost count of how many times I suggested "No More Lonely Nights"

This week That '70s Casey visits Jan 20th 1973:

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/01-20-73.pdf

pre-Casey, CKRU just played Ocean's *other* hit, "Give Tomorrow's Children One More Chance".  And followed it with Haddaway -- talk about your trainwreck segue!

Casey leads off with obscure Luther Ingram and equally obscure Who.

BOS1 Rev Al. VHM Bobby W.

BOS2 the Divine Miss M.

BOS3 Chuck berry, tho' they edited the dirtiest line from "Reelin & Rockin"

BOS4 "Dreidel"; BOS5 "Been to Canaan", BOS6 "Sitting" -- an embarassment of riches here.

Hall of Fame candidate: Spinners, "Could It Be..."

BOS7 Joni -- she's a radio.

Mondegreen of the Day: when Jermaine's cover of "Daddy's Home" came out, those not old enuf to remember the original thought he was singing "your best friend Rhoda told me" -- because the Mary Tyler Moore Show was popular then.

Hour 2 begins with Blue Haze (who??) and their long-forgotten cover of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes".

VHM Lobo.

awww... John Denver and Albert Hammond: Colorado and SoCal back-to-back.

BOS8 3DN's "Pieces of April", one of their least-played hits.

And I turned on  CKRU early and they were playing "Soul City" by the Parttland Bros, which I seem to recall is another fave of yours.

I don't know if that's appeared on a radio since 1987. Yes, I still have the cassalbum.

'85, Hour 1: Fogerty's here -- let's all hidey-hide.

BOS1 Culture Club's lovely, forgotten "Mistake #3".

I don't think I've heard EJ's "In Neon" *since* 1985.

WOS1 Glenn Frey

BOS2 Sheena's "Sugar Walls"

uber-BOS3 Macca's "No More Lonely Nights"; BOS4 Ms Lauper's fab "Money Changes Everything"

Miss Led: she married Mr Wood and they had lots of little pencils together.

Hour 2 s-s-s-starts with Ch-Ch-Ch-Chaka Khan.

BOS5 Steve Perry's lovely "Foolish Heart", the only vocal of his I've ever liked.

VHM Midnight Starr, "Operator".

WOS2 Guiffria; BOS6 Ashford & Simpson's "Solid"

another I haven't heard since '85: Seger's "Understanding".

VHM Stevie, "Love Light in Flight".

Back-to-back H&O: "Out of Touch" descending; "Method of Modern Love" rising.

VHM Pointers doin' dat Neutron Dance; BOS6 Jermaine J "Do What You Do"

I'd've detected homoerotic underpinnings to that LDD even if it *wasn't* a Diana Ross song.

BOS7 New Edition "Cool it Now"

Band-Aid move up 2 notches. Is this the latest calendar date that a Xmas record was still moving UP on the chart?

Bummer: apparently CKWS has dropped AT40, both '70s & '80s.  They were my backup feed if CKRU had streaming issues, and since the 2 stations were sister outfits (same owners), when there were 2 '70s shows to choose from, they'd usually split the diff.

Finally catching the 1977 show on CKWW in Detroit.  I've said it before" The BeeGees' "Boogie Child" is one odd 45.

VHM Smokie's rather Dr. Hook-ish "Living Next Door to Alice"

BOS Gene Cotton's forgotten "You Got Me Runnin", a fave of mine when i was doing college radio that year. Quite a flashback.

BOS2 EJ, "Sorry Seems to be..."; BOS3 Stephen Bishop, "Save it for a Chaka Bray"; BOS4 Mr Cummings standing tall.

'78, Hour 1: a mellow start with Heatwave and LeBlanc & Carr.

Ms Coolidge tries to challenge Linda R for the "queen of the remakes" title.

I'd forgotten Leo Sayer's very Scaggsian "Easy To Love" -- who's doing the duet vocal? Kinda sounds like Boz.

unexpected BOS Wet Willie, "Streetcorner Sertenade" -- sounds like H&O listened to this a few dozen times beforte they wrote "Voices"

NOOOOOOOOOOO!! "Thunder Island" followed by "You Light Up My Life" Hellishness defined.

VHM LRB. "Happy Anniversary"; uber-BOS2 Still Bill's "Lovely Day"

Oy: Meco disco-izes "Close Encounters"

Hour 2 BOS3 Con Funk Shun, "Ffun"

VHM Petula Clark Dolly Parton, making me come again.

Always a BOS(4) "Native NYer"

'84 Hour 1: a rarity from Irene Cara ("The Dream") that's forgotten for a reason. Ditto Kenny Rogers' "This Woman", despite the BeeGees pedigree.

BOS1 KC's fab "Give it Up"

Oy: Quiet Riot bang they headz.

BOS2 DeBarge, "Time Will Reveal" -- *swoon*!

WOS1 Stevie Nicks, "Nightbird". Goats EAT birds, no?

BOS3 Christine McVie, "Got a Hold on Me"

Huey Parker Lewis Jr, "I Want a New Ghostbuster"
