I bet you just "love" Jefferson Starship and Steve Perry that are part of the top 40 that week in 1984, Mike.  ;)

The Starship tune I barely remember but the perry is an all-time HFH for me. But his *other* hit that year, "Foolish Heart" is just lovely and sadly underplayed.

That's a decent 84 chart.  Oh Sherrie is much maligned, but I've always liked it, despite the opening screams "Well you shoulda been gonnnne!" -- I agree that's waay over the top, those lines make me cringe just a tad -- but the verse and chorus are nice to me.     Waddy Wachtel, the session guitarist for hire on the song, plays a really simple solo, and he took crap for that.  heh, I guess lots of folks just don't like that song, and I can see why...   :)

worst TANC evah: the Canadian station is playing "Oh Sherrie" right before the '70s show.

whenever I hear this Bobby Sherman thing, "The Drum", I think "have I ever heard this before?". I have, of course, but it never sticks in my head very long. A year from now when we hear it again I'll say the same thing.

BOS3 "She's Not Just Another Woman". 8th Day escaped the OHW curse by hitting the 40 with the follow-up "You've Gotta Crawl Before You Can Walk"

"Funky Nassau" always reminds me of the first gay guy I ever knew -- a classmate at a Catholic boys high school back then (still amazing as I think back on it). He was from Honduras originally and he loved anything Carribbean; this song was a big fave of his.

Yo, Miss Brenda! what's that on the tip of yo' tongue? Why, it's BOS4!  Didn't you KNOW?? Couldn't you SEE IT??

Today's 1984 set is sounding really, really good to me.  BOS votes to the Style Council's ever changing moods, the Thompson Twins' request for a doctor in the house, and HoJo's rumination on agape.  And OMGWTF to Willie and Julio's self-congratulation on a lifetime of conquests, which I hadn't actually listened to in many years.

Anybody here keep track of which shows are played? I keep wondering if any of these are repeats from previous years (such as last year or 2008).
