JCM's A-OK with "R.O.C.K in the USA" -- a BOS/TOTHK if ever there was 1.

VHM from me as well.  Exactly how '85 sounded to me; all we need now is "Raspberry Beret" (or was that '86?).

Ditto. And yes "Raspberry Beret" is '85.  As would be  "Manic Monday", which would make my Thursday.

BOS4 Eurythmics. "Now would I say somethin' that wasn't true?"

maybe it's just that New Wave had become mainstream by '85, but this is far better than I expected, given Bob's '80s rep.

WOS Heart, "These Dreams", as they fall under the spell of the EVIL Diane Warren.

I know Mike's gonna WOS it, but I have no gripe with "These Dreams."  Although I'd have much preferred "What About Love" or "If Looks Could Kill."  Nevertheless, he's still batting 1.000 as far as reflecting radio for me at the time.

You know me so well (it's a horrble lyric, IMHO). And you're right about radio -- everything we've heard was a Top 5 hit except the T.Heads (which was an album-rock staple). Amazing, actually.

and speaking of album-rock: WOS2 Genesis (or is this Phil solo? and does it matter?)
