26 February 2008--it's 1993
« on: February 26, 2008, 09:18:10 AM »
Heard a promo yesterday evening. Dave and Ginger seem to be somewhat in sync--early 70s yesterday, 90s today--where will tomorrow take us?

(Actually, we have a mandatory all-hands meeting tomorrow at 10, so I will miss tomorrow fo' sho'.)
Let's get right to it.

Cue the Haddaway! Not looking forward to this at all.

TFF breakin' it down -- if you count the times he's played this in the wrong year, it's def a frequent flyer.

No more sleepy dreaming?  Mediocre TFF starts us off.

Did we get Lenny Kravitz's "Believe" in our last '93 visit?  Or was that someone else's set?  Not complaining - I love this song - just curious.

survey says -- not since June 2006.  So it would have to have been Ginger or Rob.

It only appears in my Db in this year, but it is definitely a Katrina.  Not as bad as Haddaway, which is itself not quite as bad as Annie L's "Little Bird" or Cranberries "Dreams".

Can't be worse than Ginger's set

oh yes it can ;)  Ginger's was seriously lackluster, Dave can be downright awful in the '90s.

and as if to prove my point: UB40 at their paycheck-cashing worst.  From an awful movie, to boot.

I was completely baffled that this pedestrian cover from an even more pedestrian movie became UB40's biggest hit.

that's amazing -- he's def played it in the wrong year at least 2 or 3 times, iirc. (I wanna say 1989 is the incorrect year of choice).

I love UB40, and this is in fact a bustout, but I have to agree with Mike.  WOS #1 from me.

(I could muster a VHM for the JCM, but everything else so far got a 'meh')
